Mexico 1890-Do C 10 centavos

from the Stack's Bowers sale of the Kirk Menczer Collection, lot 71286

This specimen was lot 71286 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $288. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 10 Centavos, 1890-Do C. Durango Mint. NGC MS-62. Only examples graded by NGC. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Decimal Minors." The Durango mint struck this silver ten centavos 1878, 1880, 1884, 1886-95 and this is a fairly common date. The 1878-D^O, 1880-D^O and 1886-D^O are rare.

Recorded mintage: 17,000.

Specification: 2.70 g, 0.903 fine silver, 18 mm diameter, reeded edge.
