Mexico 1890As 10 pesos rev DSLR.jpg

This specimen is one of a series struck at the Alamos mint 1874-95. Although production was substantial (the 4,920 pieces for 1890 is a high mintage for the type), Alamos remains a rare mint, priced about double Mexico City, Culiacan or Zacatecas. Mintage figures are not a reliable indicator of rarity for this type due to the accidents of hoarding; many low mintage issues are readily available while other high mintage issues are very rare.

Recorded mintage: 4920.

Specification: 16.92 g, 0.875 fine gold, .476 troy oz AGW.

Catalog reference: KM 413, Fr-138.
