This specimen was lot 71339 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $900. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Empire. 2 Francs, Year 13-K (1804/5). Bordeaux Mint. Napoleon I. PCGS EF-40. A SCARCER and more difficult date to acquire, this minor displays some deeper iridescence and even circulation, and stands as the only representative of the type in the PCGS census. It was demonetized in 1869. The catalog[2] notes 35 dates for the type, most very rare.
