from the Stack's Bowers 2017 Collector's Choice sale, lot 72589
Mexico SB517-72589r.jpg

This specimen was lot 72589 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Santa Ana, CA, May 2017), where it sold for $705. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 4 Escudos, 1847/6-GoPM. Long notes this date as "extremely rare."[2]

Specification: 13.54 g, 0.875 fine gold, .380 troy oz ASW, this specimen 13.54 g.

Catalog reference: Fr-83, KM 381.4.
