This specimen was lot 73041 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $317.20. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 2 Reales, 1830-Ga FS. Guadalajara Mint. VF Details--Mount Removed. Very rare date. No examples in NGC Census. Not encapsulated by NGC due to "NOT SUITABLE FOR CERTIFICATION". Large mount mark covers cap. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Reales Minors." The Guadalajara mint produced two reales nearly continuously 1825-62 but the 1830-G^A seems to be very rare, perhaps unique. Assayer FS served 1825-36. Other mints include Guanajuato, Zacatecas, Alamos, Hermosillo, Mexico City, Culiacan, Chihuahua, Durango, Potosi, Estado de Mexico, Real de Catorce and Guadalupe y Calvo. Only Oaxaca did not strike this type. This type, legal tender in the pre Civil War United States for a quarter, is common except in uncirculated.
