This specimen was lot 2628 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 2,301 CHF (about US$3,080 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Sachsen-Meiningen, Herzogtum, Bernhard Erich Freund, 1803-1866. 2 Vereinstaler 1854, München. NGC MS62. Prachtvolle Erhaltung mit herrlicher Patina (Beautiful condition with magnificent patina." This scarce type was struck 1853-54.
