Sincona sale 9, lot 3710

This specimen was lot 3710 in Sincona sale 9 (Zürich, October 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Bayern, Königreich Maximilian II. 1848-1864. Doppelter Vereinstaler 1854. Vorzüglich-gutes vorzüglich. (Kingdom of Bavaria, Maximilian II, 1848-64, double union thaler of 1854, extremely fine to good extremely fine.)"

This type is the regular issue of 1849-56 and the only such that is reasonably common.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 37.12 g, 0.900 fine silver, this specimen 37,07 g.
