This specimen was lot 3713 in Sincona sale 9 (Zürich, October 2012), where it sold for 275 CHF (about US$348 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND Bayern, Königreich Maximilian II. 1848-1864. Doppelter Vereinstaler 1861. Sehr schön. (Kingdom of Bavaria, Maximilian II, 1848-64, double union thaler of 1861, very fine.)"
This type is the regular issue of 1861-64 and is rather scarce.
