Künker sale 354, lot 5352

This specimen was lot 5352 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €1,200 (about US$1,670 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BAYERN, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH, Maximilian II. 1848-1864. Doppelter Vereinstaler 1863. Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Germany, kingdom of Bavaria, Maximilian II, 1848-64, double union thaler of 1863. Extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1861-64 and is rather scarce.
