This specimen was lot 50433 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $482. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Bavaria. 2 Talers, 1853. PCGS AU-58. KM-837. Lustrous and conservatively graded." This type is the regular issue of 1849-56 and the only such that is reasonably common.

Specification: 37.12 g, 0.900 fine silver.
