This specimen was lot 24107 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $2,585. The catalog description[1] noted, "Saxe-Meiningen. Bernhard 2 Taler 1854, MS62 NGC, lightly toned and lustrous, small surface marks in the obverse fields. Scarce type in mint state." This scarce type was struck 1853-54.
Recorded mintage: 14,000.
