Sincona sale 18, lot 1408

This specimen was lot 1408 in Sincona sale 18 (Zürich, May 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"Doppelter Vereinstaler 1854. Hannover Vorzüglich-gutes vorzüglich. (kingdom of Hannover, double union thaler of 1854, extremely fine to good extremely fine.)"

This type of 1854-55 is common as double thalers go but can still be expensive.

Recorded mintage: 102,000.

Specification: 37.12 g, 0.900 fine silver, lettered edge, this specimen 37.12 g.
