This specimen was lot 776 in Sincona sale 11 (Zürich, May 2013), where it sold for 300 CHF (about US$371 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Bayern, Königreich Maximilian II. 1848-1864. Doppelter Vereinstaler 1854, München. Ausstellung deutscher Industrie- und Gewerbeerzeugnisse. Gutes vorzüglich. (Germany, kingdom of Bavaria, Maximilian II, 1848-64, double thaler of 1854, Munich mint. On the German industrial exposition. Good extremely fine.)"

This commemorative honored a trade fair held in Munich.
