Sincona sale 18, lot 1407

This specimen was lot 1407 in Sincona sale 18 (Zürich, May 2014), where it sold for CHF 140 (about US$184 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Taler 1853. Hannover Ausbeute. Vorzüglich-gutes vorzüglich. (kingdom of Hannover, thaler of 1853, for the miners, extremely fine to good extremely fine.)"

This type of 1852-56 is common.

Recorded mintage: 180,000.

Specification: 16.82 g, .993 fine silver, lettered edge, this specimen 22.27 g.
