This specimen was lot 72094 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2022), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 50 Centavos, 1886/1-Pi R. San Luis Potosí Mint. PCGS VF-30. Though clearly seeing some circulation, the present example provides a presentable example with a clear overdate that is rather SCARCE and much desired on account of this." The San Luis Potosí mint issued this type 1870-87. The SCWC lists 1886-Pi C, 1886-Pi R and this overdate, 1886/1-Pi R, which obtains a slight premium.

Recorded Mintage: 92,000 (including assayer C).

Specification: 13.54 g, 0.903 fine silver.

Catalog reference: KM 407.7.
