This specimen was lot 72262 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $1,020. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 50 Centavos, 1881-Ho A. Hermosillo Mint. NGC AU-58. Finest graded by NGC. Very nice for this date. Attractive toning. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Decimal Minors." The Hermosillo mint struck silver fifty centavos 1874-77, 1880-82, 1888, 1894-95. All the dates are at least somewhat better and some are rare. The 1895-HO was the last issue of this denomination under the Republic.

Recorded mintage: 13,000, an uncommon date.

Specification: 13.54 g, 0.903 fine silver, 30.5 mm diameter, reeded edge.
