This specimen was lot 71320 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $65. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 10 Centavos, 1881/0 Go S. Guanajuato Mint. NGC EF Details--Obverse Scratched. Only example graded by NGC. Scarce overdate. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Decimal Minors." The Guanajuato mint struck silver ten centavos of this design 1869-97. Most are common but a few, such as the 1875, 1877 and 1880, are rare. The Guanajuato mint closed in 1900 and assayer S is noted for 1869-84. The SCWC reports overdates 1881/0 and 1881/71, also common.

Recorded mintage: 100,000, a common date.

Specification: 2.70 g, 0.903 fine silver, 18 mm diameter, reeded edge.
