Stephen Album sale 43, lot 2445

This specimen was lot 2445 in Stephen Album sale 43 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2022), where it sold for $1,320. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO: Republic, AR 10 centavos, 1871-Go, assayer S, a superb quality example! PCGS graded MS65, ex Joe Sedillot Collection." This type was struck at Guanajuato 1869-97 and most dates are common. The SCWC reports only the overdate, 1871/0, and no regular date.

Recorded mintage: 60,000.

Specification: 2.70 g, 0.903 fine silver, 18 mm diameter, reeded edge.
