This specimen was lot 21575 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 8 Escudos 1853Go-PF, AU50 ANACS, noticeable luster in the legends, light contact marks. From the Don Benito Collection of Hispanic Gold." The Guanajuato mint struck eight escudos 1828-70 and most dates are reasonably available.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.875 fine gold, .760 troy oz AGW.
