Shown is an 1846DO RM two reales, one of a type struck at the Durango mint 1826, 1832, 1834-35, 1841-46, 1848-49, 1851-52, 1854-56, 1858-59 and 1861. Other mints include Guanajuato, Mexico City, Alamos, Hermosillo, Guadalajara, Culiacan, Chihuahua, Zacatecas, Potosi, Estado de Mexico, Real de Catorce and Guadalupe y Calvo. Only Oaxaca did not strike this type. This type, legal tender in the pre Civil War United States for a quarter, is common except in uncirculated. This date is somewhat common. Note the 4/3 overdate, seen on most Durango dates of the forties.
