This specimen was part of lot 73064 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), which sold for $390.40. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. Quintet of 2 Reales (5 Pieces), 1844-56. Guadalajara Mint. Grade Range: VERY FINE to EXTREMELY FINE. 1) 1844-Ga MC. 2) 1845-Ga MC. 3) 1845-Ga JG. 4) 1846-Ga JG. 5) 1856-Ga JG. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Reales Minors." Of the fourteen mints of the Republic of Mexico, only Oaxaca did not strike this type. The Guadalajara mint struck two reales 1825-62 and many dates are fairly common. Assayer JG (Juan de Dios Guzman) is recorded for 1836-67.
