This specimen was lot 73028 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $292.80. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 2 Reales, 1845/34-Do RM. Durango Mint. NGC VF-30. Highest graded of only two examples by NGC. Other is F--Details. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Reales Minors." Of the fourteen mints of the Republic of Mexico, only Oaxaca did not strike this type. The two reales was struck at the Durango mint 1826, 1832-35 and 1841-61. The 1845/34 overdate shown here is the only variety listed for the year, there being no regular date.
