This specimen was lot 45329 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $204. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Escudo, 1845-Mo MF. Mexico City Mint. FINE Details. A well detailed Escudo with no major surface marks and little evidence of a previous mounting." This type was struck at Mexico City 1825-69 and that mint is the most common for this denomination altho many individual dates are rare.

Specification: 3.38 g, 0.875 fine gold, .095 troy oz AGW.
