This specimen was lot 71218 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it sold for $720. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 2 Escudos, 1845-GoPM. PCGS AU-58. Average strike but with faint orange toning and no distracting marks. Brilliant with soft satin luster and quite attractive." The specimen shown was struck in Guanajuato, one of a type struck irregularly 1845-62. This is a scarce date.
