This specimen was lot 41372 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $80. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Hannover. 1/6 Taler, 1736-IAB. Zellerfeld Mint. Georg II August (George II of Great Britain). PCGS AU-55. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type was struck 1727-60 and is common. It was equal to six mariengroschen, a denomination last coined in 1715. Another one-sixth thaler was struck in 1736 with a bust obverse (KM 219).
