Hannover 1732-CPS 1/6 thaler KM-220
This specimen was lot 5711 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €170 (about US$237 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-LÜNEBURG, FÜRSTENTUM, Georg II. 1727-1760. 1/6 Taler 1732, Clausthal. R Feine Tönung, vorzüglich. Aus der Sammlung eines Ingenieurs. Exemplar der Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 115, Osnabrück 2006, Nr. 2351. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg-Calenberg-Hannover, George II, 1727-60, one sixth thaler of 1732, Clausthal mint. Rare, fine toning, extremely fine.)"
This type was struck with the leaping stallion reverse 1730 and 1732. This denomination was also struck with a wild man reverse (KM 180) and a St. Andrew reverse (KM 221). The elector George II was also king George II of England.
