Brunswick-Luneburg: Hannover. 12 Mariengroschen (1/3 Taler Feinsilber), 1731-C. Zellerfeld Mint. Georg II August (George II of Great Britain). PCGS AU-53. Only lightly handled and sporting a rather enchanting deep color, this specimen stands as a great representative of the type, with some glints of brilliance residing around the devices. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This is one of two designs used on this denomination in 1731: KM 240 features features St. Andrew on the reverse and KM 225, shown here, features the wild man on the reverse. Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver.

Catalog reference: KM-225; Welter-2600.
