This specimen was lot 925 in Jean Elsen sale 123 (Brussels, December 2014), where it sold for €280 (about US$407 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"FRANCE, Louis XVIII, première restauration (1814-1815), AR 5 francs, 1815 K, Bordeaux. Très Beau. (France, Louis XVIII, first restoration (1814-15), silver five francs of 1815, Bordeaux mint, very fine.)"

This type was struck in France 1814-15 and many of the 31 known dates are rare.

Recorded mintage: 107,745. This date is scarce but not rare.

Specification: 37 mm diameter, 25 grams, 0.900 fine silver, .723 troy oz AGW.
