This specimen was lot 32522 in Heritage sale 3089 (Dallas, TX, January 2021), where it sold for $2,880. The catalog description[1] noted, "France. Louis XVIII 5 Francs 1814-K MS64 NGC, Bordeaux mint. The first example of the type we have seen hailing from the Bordeaux mint, and quite an impressive example at that, with frosty devices combining with lightly watery fields to create an overall texture approaching Prooflike in appearance. A flashy specimen bursting with eye appeal." This type was struck 1814-15 and this is a somewhat scarce date. Eleven mints also struck five francs for Napoleon in 1814 but Bordeaux was not one of them.

Specification: 37 mm diameter, 25 grams, 0.900 fine silver, edge lettered DOMINE SALVUM FAC REGEM.
