This specimen was lot 2450 in Goldberg sale 78 (Los Angeles, January 2014), where it sold for $588. The catalog description[1] noted, "France. 20 Francs, 1814-Q. Louis XVIII. First Restoration. NGC graded AU-58." This issue, from the Perpignan mint, is a scarce date of a type struck 1814-15. The twenty francs of Louis XVIII are divided into two types, F.517 (first restoration, 1814-15) and F.519 (second restoration, bare head, 1816-24). It was demonetized in 2005.

Specification: 6.45 grams, 0.900 fine gold, .186 troy oz AGW, 21 mm diameter.
