Sincona sale 101, lot 2387

This specimen was lot 2387 in Sincona Auction 101 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 900 CHF (about US$1,357 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"CHINA Volksrepublik, 100 Yuan 1995, Shanghai Mint. XXVI. Olympische Sommerspiele 1996 in Atlanta. Turmspringer. (people's republic of China, one hundred yuan of 1995, Shanghai mint. Atlanta Summer Olympics. High Diving, NGC PF69 ULTRA CAMEO.)"

This type weighed one third of an ounce. The 100 yuan commemoratives for 1995 included KM 719, 720, 726, 747, KM 748, 749, KM 753, KM 764, 765 (shown here), 772, 802, KM 803, 809, 810, 835, 836, 837, 838, 839, 853, 854, 855, 856 and 872.

Recorded mintage: 10,000 proofs.

Specification: 10.36 g, 0.999 fine gold; this specimen 11.33 g.
