China 1995 10 yuan KM-745

Sincona sale 39, lot 3007

This specimen was lot 3007 in Sincona sale 39 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 200 CHF (about US$240 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"10 Yuan 1995. Jahr des Schweins. Polierte Platte. FDC. Im Originaletui mit Zertifikat. (China, ten yuan of 1995, for the year of the Pig. Choice Proof. With case and certificate.)"

The Chinese government has, since the mid 1980's, produced a mind boggling array of bullion related collectibles. This one honors the Year of the Pig and is accompanied by a silver ten yuan with a scalloped edge (KM 752).

Recorded mintage: 8,000 proofs.

Specification: 31.10 g, 0.999 fine silver, 1.00 troy oz ASW.
