Mexico 1849GC escudo rev JS.jpg

This specimen was struck at the Guadalupe y Calvo mint 1844-51; the SCWC prices this date only 75% higher than a common Mexico City issue but it is very scarce. Long[1] noted in his census only half as many one escudos from this mint as half escudos.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.38 g, 0.875 fine gold, .095 troy oz AGW.

Catalog reference: KM 379.3.
