Mexico 1875-Mo B 5 centavos

from the Stack's Bowers sale of the Kirk Collection, lot 71163

This specimen was lot 71163 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $384. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 5 Centavos, 1875-Mo B/M. Mexico City Mint. NGC MS-64. Only example in NGC Census. Rare over assayer. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Decimal Minors." Shown is an 1875-M^O B five centavos, of a type struck 1869-1897. This issue from Mexico City is among the more available dates, though it does not often appear so nice.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a common date.

Specification: 1.35 g, 0.903 fine silver, 14 mm diameter, reeded edge.
