Mexico 1871Mo 5 centavos rev DSLR.jpg

Shown is an 1871MoC balance scale five centavos, of a type struck 1869-1897. This issue from Mexico City is among the more available dates, though it does not often appear so nice. The SCWC prices it about eight times the common date. Other mints include Hermosillo, Culiacan, Durango, Zacatecas, Chihuahua, Guanajuato, Guadalajara, Oaxaca, Alamos and Potosi.

Specification: 1.35 g, 0.903 fine silver, .039 troy oz ASW.

Recorded Mintage: 103,000.

Catalog reference: KM 398.7.
