This specimen was lot 71067 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $2,640. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Mule -- Struck with Gold Peso Obverse -- 5 Centavos, 1879-As L. Alamos Mint. NGC AU Details--Cleaned. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Decimal Minors." The gold peso obverse die was used for the five centavos at Alamos for 1878-80 and 1886. The Alamos mint was closed in 1895.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a scarce date.

Specification: 1.35 g, 0.903 fine silver, 14 mm diameter, reeded edge.
