This specimen was lot 71446 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 10 Centavos, 1879-Zs S. Zacatecas Mint. NGC MS-64. Only example graded by NGC. Exceptional example of this coin. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Decimal Minors." The Zacatecas mint struck this type 1870-97 and most dates, including this one, are common. This mint is one of four (Zacatecas, Guanajuato, Culiacan and Mexico City) that struck the ten centavos with the redesigned eagle used 1898-1905.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a common date.

Specification: 2.70 g, 0.903 fine silver, 18 mm diameter, reeded edge.
