This specimen was lot 72218 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $780. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 50 Centavos, 1879-Cn D. Culiacan Mint. NGC AU-58. Tied in finest of three graded by NGC. Sharply struck with attractive toning. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Decimal Minors." The Culiacan mint struck silver fifty centavos 1871-88 and 1892. Most dates are scarce or rare but this one is available. A repunched assayer, D/G, is reported for the year but awarded no premium by the SCWC. The Culiacan mint survived until 1905.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a fairly common date.

Specification: 13.54 g, 0.903 fine silver, 30.5 mm diameter, reeded edge.
