The first specimen was lot 6268 in Ponterio sale 155 (New York, January 2012), where it sold for $442. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Durango. 8 Reales, 1863-CP (3/inverted 3). Ex: 'Lawson Collection', Superior 6/85 Auction, lot #3537. Ex: Ponterio Auction #139, lot #321 where it hammered for $300. BRILLIANT UNCIRCULATED." The second specimen was lot 2745 in Ponterio sale 164 (New York, January 2012), where it sold for $563.50. The catalog description[2] noted, "MEXICO. Durango. 8 Reales, 1863-DoCP. Light toning. NGC MS-64." The Durango mint struck eight reales 1824-95 and this date is listed as slightly scarce. Numerous overdates exist (1863/1, 1863/2, 1863/53).

Specification: 27.07 g, .903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
