Sincona sale 98, lot 4660

This specimen was lot 4660 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 525 CHF (about US$762 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, Taler 1725, Zürich. Stadtansicht. Fast vorzüglich. Leicht gereinigt. (Switzerland, city and canton of Zürich, thaler of 1725, Zürich mint, city view. About Extremely Fine, lightly cleaned.)"

This thaler, with one lion on the obverse, was struck 1722 and 1725. The design was slightly modified in 1729 and struck in that form until 1761.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specifications: silver, 40 mm diameter, this specimen 27.66 g.
