Sincona sale 91, lot 3669

This specimen was lot 3669 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 700 CHF (about US$925 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, Taler 1724, Zürich. Stadtansicht. . Doppelschlag auf Avers. Vorzüglich. Leicht gereinigt. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, thaler of 1724, Zürich mint, city view. Double struck on obverse, Extremely fine, Lightly cleaned.)"

This city view thaler was struck 1722-28 and accompanied a motto reverse thaler (Dav-1786).
