Sincona sale 47, lot 3092

This specimen was lot 3092 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 3,000 CHF (about US$3,600 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND, Stadt und Kanton Zürich, Doppeldukat 1723. Vorzüglich. Leicht gewellt. (canton of Zürich, double ducat of 1723. Extremely fine, Slightly wavy flan.)"

This type was struck 1718-67; despite this, all dates are rare.
