Zurich 1725 schilling
The first specimen was lot 3596 in Sincona sale 20 (Zürich, October 2014), where it sold for CHF 250 (about US$313 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Schilling 1725. FDC. (uncirculated.)" The second specimen was lot 3098 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 325 CHF (about US$390 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,
"SWITZERLAND, Stadt und Kanton Zürich, Schilling 1725. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. FDC. (canton of Zürich, schilling of 1725. Very rare in this condition, Uncirculated.)"
This is the introductory date of a type struck 1725, 1730, 1736, 1739-51, 1754. Like many Swiss minors, it has a low catalog value. One thaler = 80 schillinge.
