This specimen was lot 22719 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $199.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1894-GaJS. NGC MS-63. Struck with fresh dies and displaying great luster and brilliance. Premium quality for the assigned grade level." The Guadalajara mint produced large quantities of eight reales 1825-95 and most later dates are readily available, including this one. Assayer JS is listed for 1885-95.

Recorded mintage: 2,046,000.

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
