This specimen was lot 2310 in Goldberg sale 93 (Los Angeles, September 2016), where it sold for $188. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico. 8 Reales, 1893-Ga JS NGC MS63. Brilliant mint luster. NGC graded MS-63." The Guadalajara mint produced large quantities of eight reales 1825-95 and most later dates are readily available, including this one. Assayer JS is listed for 1885-95.

Recorded mintage: 3,854,000.

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
