Mexico 1894-Zs Z 10 centavos

from the Stack's Bowers sale of the Kirk Menczer Collection, lot 71462

This specimen was lot 71462 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $336. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 10 Centavos, 1894-Zs Z. Zacatecas Mint. NGC MS-66. Finest graded by NGC. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Decimal Minors." This specimen is a very common date of a series struck 1870-97 at the Zacatecas mint. Assayer Z operated 1886-1904; the mint closed in 1905.

Recorded mintage: 892,000, a common date.

Specification: 2.70 g, 0.903 fine silver, 18 mm diameter, reeded edge.
