This specimen was lot 1406 in Stack's "Vermuele, Ward & Mexico Maxico" sale (New York, January 2010), where it sold for $920. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. Republic. 10 Pesos, 1872/1 Mo M/C. Mexico City. Bold eagle facing r. with snake in beak. Rv. Cap and Rays above scales of Justice, dagger, and scroll of laws. The overdate feature is seen on the base of the 2 which has the post of the 1 clearly extending up into the neck of the 2. Orange-gold surfaces show minor hairlining and ample residual lustre. Choice About Uncirculated."
