This specimen was lot 8141 in Ponterio sale 159 (Baltimore, March 2011), where it sold for $345. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Guadalajara. 1/2 Real, 1844-GaMC. NGC MS-65." This specimen was struck at the Guadalajara mint in 1844, one of a type struck there 1825-62. Assayer MC is listed for 1839-41 and 1843-46.
