This specimen was lot 1081 in Stack's Coin Galleries sale (New York, October 2010), where it sold for $1,725. The catalog description[1] noted,

"MEXICO. Republic. ½ Real, 1844 Ca RG. Chihuahua. Slender and well-formed eagle on cactus. Rv. Cap in rays, tiny incuse LIBERTAD near brim. An elusive two-year type seldom available in any grade. Choice Extremely Fine."

Minor pre-decimal coinage from Chihuahua is very rare; this specimen realized ten times the value listed in the SCWC. Half reales are known for 1844-45 only.
