This specimen was lot 1280 in Stack's Bowers ANA auction (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $1,762.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 4 Escudos, 1832-MoJM. NGC EF-45. RARE date." The Mexico City mint struck eight escudos 1824-69 and is one of the abundant mints for that denomination; most dates are common.

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.875 fine gold, .760 troy oz AGW.
